Within a dream, as long as dreaming goes on, there is a dreamer. The moment I identified myself with my body or my mind, the dream began. And so, you, we, they, and everything in the world all became part of the dream. As long as dreaming goes on, the dreamer does not know who they are. Where they came from, why they live, and where they are going— all remains dark. From the first thought called "I," the world of the dream unfolds. Therefore, the only way to wake up from the world of the dream is to have a life-or-death nightmare, struggle to stay alive, then wake up to find that it was a dream. Waking up from the dream reveals that what is called the self does not exist, and with no self, there is no “I” to die. Therefore, the problem of life and death is resolved only by waking up from the dream called life and death. Philosophy, religion, and spiritual practice— all are nothing but pieces of the dream woven by thought. The dream called “I,” the dream called life, the dream called this world— to wake up from these dreams, there must be someone to dispel the dream. It is true that waking up on one’s own is extremely difficult. Therefore, only one who has awakened can help one who is dreaming. A dream is a world of illusion, a world of falsehood, a world that goes on in darkness. The world that those who have not woken up have going in the dream is quite a spectacle. No matter how much they eat, they try to eat what never fills them, struggling, fighting one another to claim it — where they live is a battlefield. Trying to possess what amounts to nothing, they exhaust all their strength and end their lives for nothing. Nothing more
than a fleeting dream. Even a society driven by knowledge and information— one that those who are dreaming keep creating— is nothing more than a world within the dream. No matter how noble or elevated it may be, it is still only something that happens in the dream. Because they have not woken up from the dream, on the one hand they seek God, while on the other they can think of nothing but preparing for war. Drama always forms two sides— the Blue Team and the White Team— and sets a game in motion. They decide who wins and who loses, and try to decide what is good and what is evil. This is how sleepwalkers behave. Systems, institutions, and laws— no matter how much they tear them apart and remake them, no matter what they do in the name of reform, it is all still within the dream. Unless they wake up from the dream, happiness and peace are no more than slogans within the dream. To save humanity, there is no other way than to wake humanity from the dream. To wake others, I myself must first wake up from the dream. I must become one who is awake. For me to become one who is awake, the shortest path is to meet one who is awake and receive his help. For this, I have decided to devote my life. If there is even one person who thinks, “I must wake up and live,” I will gladly help that person. Once you wake up, the dream is over. Only when you wake up and see for yourself do you know that even what is called spiritual practice or sustaining awakening belongs to the dream. Waking up from the dream takes no time.
